Proforma Invoice Template

A proforma invoice is a preliminary bill of sale sent to buyers before a transaction is finalized. Unlike a true invoice, it is not a demand for payment but rather a quote, estimate, or commitment to sell at specified prices and terms.

This proforma invoice template is particularly useful in international trade, where it serves as a preliminary invoice for customs purposes, helps buyers secure financing or letters of credit, and confirms order details before shipment. It includes all the elements of a standard invoice but is clearly marked "Proforma Invoice" to indicate its preliminary nature.

The template includes detailed product descriptions, quantities, unit prices, shipping terms (Incoterms), delivery timelines, and payment terms. For international transactions, it includes fields for HS codes, country of origin, and export documentation references.

Once the buyer approves the proforma and completes payment (or when goods ship), a final commercial invoice replaces the proforma invoice.
